Kim M. Wold, President

Kim founded Alaska Appraisal Associates, Inc. in October 1978 and serves as President and Chief Appraiser.  Kim received his General Real Estate Appraiser license from the State of Alaska, Department of Commerce and Economic Development, Division of Occupational Licensing in September 1991.  He has attended numerous appraisal related courses and seminars presented by the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, Northwest Center for Professional Education, Marshall Valuation Service, University of Alaska, and the International Right-of-Way Association.  He has also completed courses sponsored by the Appraisal Institute in conjunction with the University of Portland, University of Colorado, University of San Diego, and Arizona State University.

Kim has testified as an expert witness in proceedings before the US Bankruptcy Court and in the Superior Courts in the States of Alaska and Washington regarding real estate and business valuations.  He has also testified in tax appeal hearings before the Board of Equalization for the Ketchikan Gateway Borough and the City of Craig, as well as the Internal Revenue Service.

Kim specializes in the appraisal of all types of commercial, industrial, and special purpose (i.e., fish processing plants, sawmills, tourism-oriented, etc.) properties.  He has also performed numerous right-of-way, condemnation, and other litigation involved appraisals.

Barry W. Thompson, MAI

Barry received his MAI (Member Appraisal Institute) designation in May 1977.  He received his General Real Estate Appraiser License from the State of Washington in November 1991 and from the State of Alaska in December 1991.  He has attended numerous seminars, conferences, and professional meetings presented by the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, the Appraisal Institute, and the American Right-of-Way Association.

Barry has been designated as an expert witness in the Superior Courts in the States of Alaska and Washington.  He has also testified in tax appeal hearings.
